Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer a discovery call?

Yes. A complimentary 20-minute connection call is available so we can meet, discuss what brings you here, and explore whether this feels like a good fit.

How do I know if we're a good fit?

The relationship matters. A discovery call gives us the opportunity to connect and find out. If another practitioner would better serve your needs, I will do my best to point you in the right direction.

Is InnerWild right for me?

This work may be for you if you feel disconnected from yourself or what matters most, have done personal growth work and want support integrating it, are moving through a transition or period of uncertainty, feel overwhelmed by the pace of modern life, or long for a deeper connection with nature, meaning, and belonging.

What is nature-based counselling?

An approach that recognizes the natural world as a healing environment. Sessions may be online, indoors, or in nature. Nature is not the backdrop, it is part of the process.

Why nature?

Many of us live as though we are separate from the natural world. Yet we are part of the same living systems that sustain all life. Nature offers more than a place to relax — it supports reconnection, belonging, and a sense of place within something larger than ourselves. At InnerWild, nature is not simply the setting. It is a relationship.

What is the difference between counselling and coaching?

Counselling generally focuses on self-awareness, personal growth, life experiences, relationships, and emotional wellbeing.

Coaching is typically more future-focused and action-oriented, helping people clarify goals, navigate decisions, and move toward meaningful change.

Depending on your needs, one approach may be more appropriate than the other. We can discuss this during a discovery call.

What kinds of challenges do you support?

People often come seeking support with stress and burnout, life transitions, grief and loss, questions of meaning and direction, disconnection from self or nature, relationship challenges, and a desire for greater alignment between how they live and what matters most.

What happens in a session?

Each session is guided by what feels most important in your life at the time. My approach is conversational, relational, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through awareness, experience, and integration.

Do I have to meet outdoors?

No. Outdoor sessions are one option, not a requirement. Many clients work entirely online or indoors.

What happens during an outdoor session?

Outdoor sessions are held in accessible natural settings and may involve walking, sitting, observing, or simply spending time in relationship with the natural world. Capacity, accessibility, privacy, weather, and safety are always considered.

What if the weather is poor?

Safety is always prioritized. Depending on conditions we may adapt the session, move online, reschedule, or choose an alternative location.

Where are you located?

I am based in Kelowna, BC.

Individual sessions are available online. In-person groups, workshops, and nature-based offerings may be available seasonally in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario.

How much does a session cost?

Current fees are listed on my booking page. If cost is a barrier, please reach out to discuss available options.

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?

It does not include the diagnosis or treatment of serious disorders as defined under Ontario legislation.
